This talk explores how I went from staring at subway transit maps to learning that loving maps is something one can do for a living. We’ll journey together through my getting started in OSM, becoming a community organizer, and ending up working at the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. It’s been a wild ride! If you are new to the world of OSM and want to hear about someone’s winding path to make mapping in OpenStreetMap into a career, this talk is for you.
